The Opportunity:
An internationally renowned luxury interior design practice is seeking an accomplished Design Director to join its Bangkok studio, working on prestigious luxury residential, branded residential and hospitality projects across Asia Pacific.

With an extensive portfolio of projects in Australia, Japan, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Singapore, the practice is recognised for creating sophisticated, highly individual interiors that combine architectural understanding, refined materiality and exceptional craftsmanship.

This is an opportunity for a talented design leader to take responsibility for the creative development and delivery of significant international projects, working closely with the practice's Principals and multidisciplinary design teams.

The Role:
The Design Director will lead the design and delivery of multiple high-end interior projects, overseeing the creative process from initial concept through design development, detailed documentation and construction.

Working alongside the Principals, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining design excellence, guiding project teams and ensuring the successful coordination and progression of projects.

The position requires a highly accomplished designer with strong conceptual abilities, technical knowledge and the experience to manage complex luxury interiors through every stage of design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design development and delivery of luxury residential, branded residential and hospitality projects from concept through completion.
• Develop and refine distinctive design concepts, ensuring a strong architectural narrative and consistent design quality throughout each project.
• Direct interior architecture, interior design and FF&E teams, providing creative guidance and technical oversight.
• Oversee space planning, interior architecture, material selections, bespoke detailing and integration of FF&E.
• Review design drawings, presentations, specifications and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency and design integrity.
• Work closely with the Principals to develop and implement the creative direction of individual projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinating design programmes, deliverables, team resources and project priorities.
• Guide project teams through concept design, schematic design, design development, tender documentation and construction-stage coordination.
• Coordinate with external architects, consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers to resolve design and technical issues.
• Participate in client meetings and design presentations, communicating design proposals and responding to project feedback.
• Monitor project progress and ensure design deliverables are completed to the required quality standards and agreed programmes.
• Oversee design reviews, material approvals, mock-ups and site coordination to ensure the original design intent is maintained.
• Mentor and develop designers, providing creative direction, technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively with international studios and project teams to support the successful delivery of regional projects.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
• Extensive experience within internationally recognised luxury interior design practices, including senior-level responsibility for major projects.
• Exceptional portfolio of luxury private residential, branded residential and/or five-star hospitality interiors.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of complex, high-value interior projects.
• Strong conceptual design skills, supported by a thorough understanding of interior architecture, spatial planning, materials, bespoke detailing and FF&E.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the design process from initial concept through technical documentation and construction.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating external consultants.
• Excellent design presentation, communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organisational ability and experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to design excellence.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and relevant design software. Revit experience would be advantageous.
• International project experience, particularly across Asia Pacific, would be highly regarded.
