We are searching internationally for an exceptional hospitality design leader to take on a newly created senior appointment within a major international design group. With established studios, Design Directors and significant projects across its global network, the business is now creating a new level of design leadership focused on the very highest standards of luxury hospitality.

Based in Shenzhen, this person will sit at the heart of the global design structure, overseeing design excellence across international studios and taking a leading creative role on the group’s most important hospitality projects worldwide. They will work alongside existing Design Directors, providing another level of creative leadership, review and direction across the business. 

The appointed candidate will have the opportunity to build an exceptional international design team around them in Shenzhen, creating a centre of excellence that can support, influence and lead key projects across the global portfolio.

We are open to conversations with Design Directors, Creative Directors, Hospitality Principals, Studio Directors, Partners and studio founders whose careers have been shaped by exceptional hotels and resorts. For the right appointment, there is also scope to discuss bringing selected members of an established team to Shenzhen.

Your portfolio might include work for Aman, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Six Senses, Capella, Ritz Carlton or comparable international luxury operators and developers. You will understand what it takes to design at this level of luxury, with a first class portfolio that demonstrates it.

This requires genuine design authority. Someone capable of setting the benchmark, challenging and elevating design, guiding senior designers and taking creative ownership of highly significant projects. Just as importantly, you will have the stature to work with global clients, owners, operators and senior design leadership across an established international organisation.

This is therefore not an opportunity to simply run another studio. It is a newly created position within the upper level of the group’s design hierarchy, with the mandate to influence design globally while building a world class team around you in Shenzhen.

The business has the international platform, existing studios, project pipeline and investment behind the appointment. The opportunity is deliberately being shaped around exceptional talent, with title, remit, remuneration, incentives, relocation support and the structure of the Shenzhen team open for discussion.
