An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Interior Designer or Architect with strong healthcare experience to join the Brisbane studio of a Tier 1 architecture practice.
This is a hands-on leadership role working on one of Queensland’s most significant health infrastructure projects — a multi-billion-dollar project currently in Design Development (DD).
You will play a key role in leading the project through to the completion of DD, working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.
With a strong pipeline of major healthcare projects nationally, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a landmark project while positioning yourself for further career growth within a leading Health sector team.
The Role:
You will take ownership of an interior design-led workstream within a large and complex healthcare project, providing both strategic leadership and technical expertise.
Working within a broader multidisciplinary team of 20+ professionals, you will lead and mentor a team of approximately 4–5 people and work closely with clients, users, consultants and senior project leadership.

- Lead an interior design workstream on a large-scale, complex healthcare project.
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of approximately 4–5 designers within a broader multidisciplinary project team.
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate user groups and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and drive design outcomes.
- Coordinate documentation packages and consultant deliverables through Design Development.
- Identify project risks, develop recommendations and communicate key issues to Principals and senior leadership.
- Manage project outcomes against demanding programs and deadlines.
- Provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in the design and documentation process.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate-level Architect or Interior Designer who combines strong healthcare project experience with proven leadership and technical capability.
Essential requirements:
- Significant experience delivering healthcare projects within an architecture or interior design practice.
- Demonstrated experience leading workstreams on large-scale, complex projects.
- Experience managing and mentoring multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to plan and facilitate user group sessions.
- Advanced Revit capability is mandatory. Candidates without Revit experience will not be considered.
- Proven experience coordinating documentation and consultant deliverables.
- Experience delivering projects through Design Development.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on and technically engaged.
