I am currently partnering with an International Architecture practice who is seeking a Associate/Project Director to join their growing Melbourne team and work across Multi-Res, Aged-Care/Retirement Living, Education and Commercial projects.   
 
Working alongside the Studio Leader and Directors, you will be responsible for leading the Melbourne studio's architecture projects from business development through to delivery, while building client relationships, developing staff and strengthening the companies design profile in the market.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Business development: Build and maintain a client network, identify opportunities, prepare proposals/tenders/EOIs, respond to leads and develop long-term client relationships.
• Client & project leadership: Win and manage projects, prepare fee proposals, establish project plans, manage client communication and reporting, and ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget and program.
• Design leadership: Set design direction, develop concepts, communicate ideas to clients and teams, and oversee design and construction documentation.
• Team leadership: Lead project teams of up to around four staff, allocate resources, mentor junior staff, encourage collaboration and maintain quality standards.
• Studio/strategic contribution: Work with senior leadership on resourcing, training, quality systems, business planning and continuous improvement.
• Market profile: Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends and workplace issues, participate in industry events, support publications and build the companies profile through networking and thought leadership.
• WHS: Contribute to a safe workplace through appropriate supervision, training and compliance.

Ideal candidate:

• Registered/qualified architect with 12-15+ years' industry experience in Australia.
• Strong track record in client management, project delivery and business development.
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture teams and delivering projects profitably.
• Strong design capability with the ability to sketch, communicate concepts and direct documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposals, EOIs and reports.
• Confident, persuasive and commercially aware, while being collaborative and pragmatic.
• Energetic, self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Able to represent the practice confidently with clients, staff, peers and industry.
• Committed to ongoing professional development.
• A proficiency in Revit as you will be hands on through documentation phases.

Salary circa $130-150K + super commensurate with experience.
